Does anyone have experience with Gold Dot 22 Mag 40 gr HP? On the box it states that this ammunition is optimized for use in 2 inch barrels.
For short barrel personal protection.
I am curious about is there any notable difference shooting it in a rifle on rams, than, say Winchester 40 grain?
Thanks.

I doubt it will be any more effective on Rams than any other 40 grain. Maybe less effective because the personal defense bullet maybe be designed to expand at lower velocity.

Give it a try and see what it does then report back!

For what it's worth, I've read that Gold Dot uses a faster burning powder for hand gun barrel lengths.

I figure that it will work just fine for chickens and pigs and save the better stuff for turkeys and rams.
At least until I can stumble across a deal on a.357.
