When the action was trued, were the lugs lapped, threads re-cut and was it timed? What trigger?

What is the mileage (rounds fired) on the 260 SS on the action?

What is "8 twist "6 I think"?

Is the second barrel fitted to the action you are selling?

Thanks,

Steve

8 twist is one complete revolution in 8 inches of barrel. A 6 twist would be way too fast of spin for any gun. I think the jacket of the bullet would come apart. The longer bullets require faster twists. Many older, large cal guns had slow twists of 12 and even less.

Lugs lapped, 8 Twist #6 couture, don't know exact round count app 1100? Rem factory trigger, Was installed and headspace checked out good. Extra barrel has less then 300 rounds. It weighs same as 26" #4 barrel. Thanks Tom.

Hello Toms,

Thanks for the replies.

My idea was to set the barrel back a bit and rechamber for a 6.5 X 47 Lapua (-.100") but I think the base diameter of the 260 is too large to make it work.
