Which 6.5mm 139-142 grain bullet for an 8.5 twist?
My rifle has a one in 8.5" twist. Sierra suggests 8 twist for their 142, and Berger is happy with 9 for their 140's. The berger 140 has by far the highest BC for this class of bullet, so I'm temped to just go with them. Lapua makes no suggestions, but I've heard a lot of good things about their 139.
It's too bad you can't buy these bullets by the dozen for testing. Here's a business opportunity for you George - buy some of everything and sell "test packs" with 20 or so of each type.

What about the Lapua 144 gn FMJBT? I know this was reissued perhaps 5-8 years ago for awhile. But that bullet was not nearly as hard as the original. The original used to be loaded in the Red Box 6.5 x 55 rounds that Champion's Choice had in the early-mid-90's. Now it is back again. Is the new bullet as good as the original?
Back then, I reloaded with the 140 Sierra. Since it was shooting fine, I didn't try the 142 when it came out.
