Great shooting, as usual!! I wonder what that feels like, I was pretty happy shooting my first 50% this past weekend (20/40)!! I'm still looking for that magic hold/trigger pull/sight picture/break.......

Thanks Allen! I appreciate your kind words. It was a good match, lots of fun.
As to how it feels to shoot a perfect score, it's nice to put all the pieces together and execute every shot. The last five targets are always tough. However, I LOVE to shoot so the real joy, regardless of the score, is just getting to be out there shooting silhouette. I think that some people put a little too much into the scores and forget to enjoy the shooting - Especially shooters coming up through the classes, enjoy the process of getting better and the people. That's what it's all about!
To be honest, I think I was more excited the first time I shot a 30/40 than I was the first time I shot a 40/40 - and I was WAY more excited a few weekends ago when my B-class, 12-year-old nephew shot a 26/40 than I have ever been with any score I've ever shot!

				Congrats Dustin!
Outstanding accomplishment!
Yep - I agree, seeing the excitement and pure JOY in a young or new shooter's face is VERY exciting. I don't have a perfect score to compare it to, but it beats anything I'VE shot so far!
Again - good shooting. Keep it up.

For one year I have shot cowboy matches-1/2 scale .22 and pistol caliber and full scale CLA.. I don't even want to get started in smallbore.(don't own any scoped bolt action guns)..But I have been invited (challenged?) to shoot 5th scale with my iron sighted lever gun.. Thinking I'll do outstanding if I manage a 15 but wont complain if I get 10..It really is all about the fun and comraderie......From what little I know about silhouette matches, 40 seems impossible- I haven't seen anybody do it.

Just FYI there is a guy here in Missoula that shoots open sights at our 1/5 targets too. Shoots old military trainers. He also shoots high power with open sights. Like you he does it just for fun. I might give it a go next year shooting my lever gun at both half and fifth scale just for grins.

You should try it. It's REALLY fun and challenging.
Thanks to everyone for the nice words.
