They are painting targets and we will begin in a few minutes. Partly cloudy and cool. Mosquitos will be the biggest distraction for the 1st relay.

No shortage of green grass. Never seen it so lush here.

About 150+ shooters.

To BrentD & DWostler,
Thank you guys for volunteering to due some reporting from the CLA Nationals. It's well appreciated. As a point of clarity I wrote the NRA twice requesting that they change the name of this discipline from Cowboy Lever Action Silhouette to just plain Lever Action Silhouette. In trying to promote this sport I'm constantly asked questions that make it very clear that CLA is confused with SASS. Your thread titled "Cowboy Nationals" although generally recognized by seasoned readers of this forum could be confusing to the casual reader. Please, not to cast a disparity on you guys, just trying to make a point.

Yeah, I could do without the Cowboy thing too. Relay 2 is about to commence. Me and the rams are about to get acquainted.

From what I heard, Joe Atwood won with a 38/40; followed by Jim Luke (37/40) and Tony Tello (36/40).

All I know is that I didn't win, but I had a hell of a great time, followed by a few G&T's, then half a wild turkey simmered in mole sauce, and now I'm watching the sunset which is borderline spectacular. Nothing could possibly be better.

I wish I could upload photos, but it might drive some of those unlucky enough to not be here into a deep an irrecoverable depression.

If you have never been to the Nationals in Raton, you seriously need to reprioritize you life.

Thanks for posting. Are the AAA and Master scores posted? Just wondering if I'm missing something on my end.

Thanks for the updates. Go ahead and put up a sunset/G&T picture, remind us of why we need to go next year.

By the way is this smallbore,PC or centerfire CLA?
