Just load up 300 rounds; that gives you 100 rounds to shoot in practice. Right

If he shoots 100 practice shots that leaves him 40 short for the match. He can borrow one of my 7-08's to finish the match.

My question is about the Program. I just can't seem to follow the description of the course of fire.

Is it 2 x 40 for each rifle on Sat and then a single 40 for each rifle on Sunday.

Or is it something else? It is kind of hard to tell how many shots total with the 2 relay 2 rifle in a match sentence. The way I read it the total comes out to 120 shots per rifle for a total of 240 shots.

Just want to make sure I bring enough ammo if we can make it up. No comments Bigfoot!

You always bring enough ammo.... it's just shooting 300 rounds of practice that make you end up short

HA....got it figured out. I cut it close in AZ last April with only 10 extra rounds.

Make the trip, Dee. Worth every penny.....bring enough ammo.

Dee: your interpretation of the program is correct...just what the words said. 120 per gun, 2 x40 per gun on Saturday 1 x40 on sunday. No separate hunting rifle match....y'all get to mingle. All competitors are required to pay attention, stay loose, and have fun....and provide McAlice with useful criticism or meaningful observations This year I have obtained a special prize for some lucky dog! Some might say its the perfect award for a certain Colorado gentleman. Remember the last 'special prize' went to Mark Pharr a few years back (i.e. a twin pack of Preparation H)

It looks like we will have 3 shooters driving up from Louisiana, each shooting both Standard and Hunter rifle. I know I saw a shooter limit somewhere but I cant find it. How many relays will there be? If I read everything correctly, with each shooter shooting in two relays if shooting both rifles, we'll need at least 6 relays for three people to spot for each other. If there are only 4 relays, each shooter will need a separate spotter. Right?

I suppose my question is: will there be enough relays for each of the three of us to shoot two rifles and spot for each other?

I'm trying to keep it at 4 relays. hence the third guy will be with someone else. I say the limit is 40 rifles but I can stretch to 48. If i go more time works against us and the the course of fire needs to get reduced or folks from out of town won't leave on Sunday till late in the day etc. Plus I'd like to shoot and not just work my tail off..... If we have too many I'll refund and notify asap.....no one makes the trip for nothing however...the day of entrants got problems look at this way...the third guy gets to meet new people Everything will be fine...don't fret.....We have McAlice to torture I'll work on my squads tonight and give status reports

My entry went out today! I told Dustin we would find him a blind date to the dance. Oops, I mean blind spotter for the match. Yeah a blind spotter is just what he needs. He should probably be deaf too or fluent in German.

Looking forward to it, now I just need to get the brass rounded up.

Actually a blind spotter may not be as problematic as "Cross Firing Bob"......

McAlice....generally speaking I'm really good at hitting the wrong target....Its hard to believe someone else has more skills in that area. I just checked my squadding sheets and we're at 27 out of 40-48

Mark it up 2 more couple of rednecks from the southern part of the state gonna show up The easiest way NOT to shoot the wrong target is to hit all the one you shoot at first

Sadly, having been burned by last minute no-shows which dings up my squads and makes more work for me....as if I'm not already busier than a one armed paper hanger...I don't squad anybody without a) $ and b) the form. "I'll be there" goes with "I'll respect you in the morning", " The check's in the mail" and " I promise not to tell anyone"
