I have fond memories of the Nationals at Crestline hosted by the coon hunters club...it was great match I enjoyed watching the shoot off with the sling shot it was great..That steak joint down the road we went to after the days matches was also great the huddle house..I think it was called , of course shooting next to Cathy and Teresa was funny especialy when she got a shot call from teresa and didn't know what a dinger on a ram was.....of course she got a great explanation from teresa.

Now Baby Huey, not to hijack Sgt ODucky's thread here, a Razorback tent is acceptable on the correct end of the line.

BH, obviously you have not spent a lot of time in the deep south, especially not in a small town in a French influenced state.

BH and Mary,

Glad to have some other posts here. I am thinking of what to post regarding 1996 and will probably have something on next week when I get back to the office and can get out the scrapbook! Jerry and I are seriously thinking of a book, but not too many have responded yet! We will make a decision at the end of the month and let everyone know. If we do not write all of our memories down, it will be sad as there are really a lot of really humorous events and a LOT of practical jokes to put in a book! We learned from the masters of silhouette and did not forget too many things that they told or showed us!

Book would be good, just be sure to edit out the part about a certain trip that we took to Portland after the Conard Cup....had nothing to do with the Southern Nationals....though if memory serves me correctly I spotted you to your personal best on Sunday morning that year....33 it was.

And I believe that is where you earned the name Spottin' Kitty. Where is the muzzle warmer?
BH...FYI LSU tents are far more acceptable than the green.

Say what you want about teams but please keep this thread about shooting. I cannot help it if you want to root for subpar SEC teams but this thread is about shooting memories!!!

Hammy,

It is true and Jerry and I are preparing as I write. It just may be a culmination and conglomeration of ALL the past 21 matches! I will have the entry forms posted pretty soon!

I'll say this John... that was BY FAR the worst plane ride of my entire life :ymsick: ... Wasn't it fun though?

Circa 1999 or 2000 ??? I was standing on the firing line around Turkeys 8 or 9… Kenny Payton had ridden his bike to the range from Rayville and David was accusing him of leading the ‘Gay Pride’ parade and busting his chops, etc. Kenny said “George…George… what kinda nickname can we come up with ‘George’… I know! Chicken George! My reaction secured the nomination in less time than it took David to stop laughing…
