Anything that will knock down a ram at 500m should take down anything under 1500 lbs at 100m. With a well place shot.

I think we should get back to the knife and video camera option. It would be much more entertaining. :)

Wonder if a standard one will work, or will that contour take something special?

And you have to appreciate the irony of this group trying to talk someone out of another rifle...

I realize that I am the one who started the comment that a 6.5 x 47 will kill hogs just fine, but then remembered that if you show up at a hunting camp with a gun in a metalflaked multicolored Pharr stock, the other members of the camp will think that you regularly hunt on Brokeback Mountain. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Many years ago, one of the guys in the camp showed up with a Ruger 44 magnum carbine. He was teased mercilessly. I hate what would have happened if his gun had a pink and yellow stock and a pink bolt handle.

I think a well-placed 400+ yard shot would quieten the jeers about the rifle just fine. :)

My real concern is a pissed off pig needing a booster shot while a fumble to reload a single shot Stiller. Hopefully the first shot was from 400 yards so my fat self has time to climb a tree...

Rule of thumb...only hunt dangerous game with someone you can outrun...You don't have to out run the pig, just your hunting buddy...

BB, do you feel the love yet?
259...think it would end up with tied odds. But then the tie breaker could be run to set the rams and back, then shoot 5 turkeys.
