My wifes 6.5x47 feeds just fine in the short action Rem 700 with the standard 308 mag & follower, at least as well as it feeds 308 ammo.
Not even close to my 6.5x55 Sako 75 however, it feeds like a rocket on rails just as it came from the factory.

I finally got around to reading this thread cuz I don't shoot HP rifle. I shoot ( it's been a while) big bore pistol silhouette. We used to shoot for 900 ft.lbs. of energy at the ram. Most of the clubs I shot at had pneumatic reset targets, some were set light and some heavy, but generally 900ft.lbs. got the job done. Since the targets were closer,200 yds. for rams, it was easy to see the bullet strike the ram. One thing we noticed was hollow point boattail match bullets from most manufacturers would blow-up if they were moving too fast when they hit a target. The solution was to slow those MK down or shoot a bullet with sturdier construction. Most of the bulk hunting bullets we shot would hang together fine when you hit a target but they had the ballistic coefficent of a brick. Fortunately we only had to shoot 200 yds max so a need for a high BC wasn't that important. We had a guy that shot a 32 H&R Mag that was necked to 30 cal. and he would stick a 220 gr MK in it with a little bit of powder so he had a muzzle velocity of about 950 fps. That thing used to whack the rams down so hard they would bounce off the ground. Sometimes we would find a bullet laying on the ground with the front 1/3 of the bullet bent at about 15 degrees off-axis. I don't know if this helps any. Hope it gives rise to some experimentation, you never know what you'll run up on.
