Yeah, Dee. You would enjoy a hunt out here. We are meat hunters and don't care about taking a trophy bull. The late December cows only season offers a much better chance for success. You have the entire month to hunt, far fewer hunters, and you see way more animals as they are migrating out of the upper elevations to their winter feeding grounds. You dont have the typical warm weather associated with the earlier fall seasons. No spoiled meat concerns or those pesky flies and yellow jackets buzzing around during dressing chores. That cow will net us about 175 pounds of boned out delight. :D

I hear ya on the meat hunting. Remember I am down here in the swamp, we ain't known for being picky when it comes to what we eat

Actually I prefer the doe venison of whitetails more than most bucks. Especially if they are all full of hormones it just seems to add more game taste.

I've heard guys talk about bugling bulls and how it raises the hair on your neck and arms. One moment you hear him across the ridge and then you blow a little later and he blows back right near you. That must be a rush.

When it comes to expense of the hunt I know these high dollar guided hunts are for Bull Elk in the 4x4 on up size but how much would it cost to hunt a cow? Do you need to draw a tag and all that? Lots of hunts I have seen on TV were done by guys on BML land on their own with some success but I am not familiar at all with that type of hunting and feel that would be a waste of time. It is something I would like to do someday though. Elk, Mulies, Pronghorn and Moose would be the ones I always wanted to hunt. Oh and pop some P-Dogs.. Although I won't be eating those. I have my limits but I must say Nutra Rat is tasty.

That guy has big balls! That bull wouldn't be able to smell the estrous over the poop smell coming out of my britches.
