I thought this was a local or state NRA function. Did not know this was the 2013 NRA national convention.
We will not go near Houston that weekend. Too much competition for lodging and meals.
Keep us updated on the new dates!

I'd have to vote for changing the date instead of the format etc. Not that I know for sure I can make a date I don't know about but I rather change times than alter the match itself and leave people out that are locals no less.
Make it into a 3 day match and combine it with the fall State Airgun Match we all bring our .22 rifles with us for that match as it is now. Just thinking out loud.

A decision has been rendered. The date will NOT change. Bill Motl will take over the match director duties and has decided to do a 2 day 60 shot match. this will allow an early start and finish time, giving people who'd like to go to the NRA convention the opportunity to do so. Greg will make the changes to the program in the next day or so. So to go over it, A 60 shot match for Standard rifle on Saturday, with about an 8 am start time, and a 60 shot match on Sunday for Hunter rifle, with an 8 am start time. More details to follow.
thanks!

also, there was a lot of discussion about combining it with the air rifle match in the fall, should we go that route next year? Anyone?

Don't worry about a hurricane. Just make sure Baby Huey is around to hold the tents down like he did at Winnsboro last year during the storm.

Well PM Pat, it's not my gums I worry about, it's the vibration of the wind on my tongue when I focus on my shooting that I worry about in the breeze.
cedestech, maybe you should try a little lighter tokillya for the hurricane party, one that doesn't knock you out.

Bobby,
Houston is pretty big so the range is a good 20 miles for the Goerge R Brown Convention Center. Doubt that you would have trouble finding rooms with this much time to plan.
