One example that comes to mind was the year that they allowed relined barrels in Hunter's Pistol. The committee did not like what people did and so they outlawed them at the next meeting and did not even grandfather the ones people had.
Another, that caused no end of ill will, wasn't one year strictly speaking, It involved the "chin guns". The committee did not like what people were doing and tried to simply outlaw them over the objections of everyone involved. Instead they created a special status/category for about a year and then banned them.
You really don't want to go very far down that road. It was not a pleasant journey.
