We shall see. I am looking at over 1160 ft/lbs at Rams with standard loads for the Creedmoor with a 140gr bullet. That is more energy than my 7-08 loads with 168 matchkings @2500fps (1005 ft/lbs). I personally think this cartridge is going to give my 7-08 a spankin. Time will tell.

I have sent thousands of 6.5 bullets down range in silhouette matchs and their ability to resist wind drift cannot be denied, but those 6.5 140's and 142's aren't even close to the 7mm 162 A-max's when it comes to toppleing rams especially when comparing the little 6.5's to a full throttle 7-08 load.

Why wait Ellett brothers has them in stock?? Look into the others that weigh in at 8.5 lbs with the heavy barrel. Shoot the Savage barrell and you may be surprised at what it does.

I have to go through Savage directly because I am using a coupon from them. I've already sent payments to both Savage and Shilen so there is no stopping this ball now.

I will probably end up testing the Savage factory barrel and I am sure that I will be impressed with it, but I started this build fully intending on going with a Shilen barrel. Unless the Savage barrel miraculously out shoots the stainless Shilen barrel I'll be selling the factory barrel.
