Local shooter may have been some help...but, judging from the "help" I got from the "locals" at the gas station, Innocent Mary and Bob259 were the much better choice...

Probably they high point of the whole thing was when the "smart one" came back with a sharpie he found in the back and asked "Would you like "gas" written on that can in bigger letters sir"?.....Anyway, the notorious blue "gas" can now holds diesel for my tractor...Win win situation

I've told some dumber stories, but this one is the dumberest. Can't you guys spice it up a bit by tossing in, let's say, a bear attack or an explosion?

Sorry...I did leave out the part where the bear from Maine, who was driving through on his was to Pittsburg, running late as usual, hoping to at least bearly =)) make it in time for the Hot Porrige festival, stopped at the same sheetz station we were at....just so happens, also on her way to the same Hot Porrige festival was Goldilocks, who was hanging out at the pumps, trying to "hook up" with someone who had a bed which was not too hard, nor too soft, but just right, so she might score some cash to fuel her '72 Chevy Impala and maybe, just maby score some rock..(Goldilocks is now badly hooked on crack, a result of her childhood habits of breaking and entering bear's homes in the Sherwood Forest....Anyway, the Bear, who has asked that his name be left out of the story because of his political connections to the O'Bama gang just so happened to have a rock on him....Deal was done and Goldilocks, who was really in a bad way since she hadn't scored in a couple of days, broke out the pipe and lit the rock....The Bear, who was fueling his Beemer, broke out his Blue Kerosene can that he carried for emergencies such as the one we were having and proceeded to put Supreme gas in it, in spite of the warnings on the can and in spite of the fact that he did not have the magical incantation "Gas" written on his can....Well, sure enough, the blue can was not the correct can and fuel spilled everwhere....last thing I saw in the mirror as we drove away was a huge explosion as the Sheetz station, the bear, Goldilocks, the Beemer, the '72 Impala and the infamous, government mandated labeled blue KEROSENE can went up in a huge fireball of an explosion....I though surely you guys saw it on the news, so I left that part out...Thanks 'Bone for drawing my attention to my oversight...And that is the truth, sure as the oil spill in the Gulf will have little or no enviornmental impact 8-}

Kitty, Now that you're home this would probably be a good time to familiarize yourself with the layout of a typical dashboard gauge layout. Take special note of the gauge in the lower left and the relationship of the needle in respect to the 'E' and 'F' indicators. Once you have this down you shouldn't have any more problems.

Mine looked just like that except the needle was on E and ther was a pretty orange gas pump light right beside it....thought that meant bonus miles. :(
