Skeeters, sand flies, stickers, gators, snakes, possums, semi tame coons, hogs and other fine Florida friends have been well taken over by concrete, so if we stop the use of AC maybe we can start breaking up some of the concrete and using it for stone crab beds.

Boy, I didn't know I was hitting on such a hot topic.

I thought I had it bad up here in the north with the libs everywere. My club had been kissing the locals butts by giving some local HS student a scolarship when they graduate. (oviously I didn't get one). The parents of the local kids getting it have been very vocal at the town meetings when some one in town crys about the clubs noise. The new threat is coming from these new "rails to trails" paths they are pushing for. They cut right through most of the local hunting lands and past clubs. and since there is no shooting 500 ft from a paved road or path it shuts down hunting and clubs quick. The cost is in the millions when the state is broke but they keep building them anyway. the only ones using them so far are the rapeist. its sucluded and dark and just begs for trouble.

That's odd. We have a multi-use paved trail that used to be a railroad running along the fence of our club land. I guess it could be 500ft from the firing line to there, though, as the 3d archery course runs along that fence, too. We're 20ft away from the pavement when we're shooting the 3d course, and I'd trust the gun shooters more than I'd trust some of the folks that shoot 3d archery at our club.

Don't y'all have range protection acts/legislation in place there to protect you from development or changes in land use?

Gator,
As you well know, they find some loophole around the protection acts.

the real threat of the rails to trails is hunting. they cut right trough hunting lands then shut it down. I hunt on about 2-3 acres of land then cry all year cuz I didn't get a deer.
