Proper research might discover as much. Is this an issue deserving deeper study?
Spoken like a true academic government worker. Wonder if we could get a grant to further the study and hire some fine minorities, ie some of us with (un)common sense to advance this study. How many names could we get on this paper and of course we will need a true sampling of the population and the various bone structures to validate our data. First we have to pick the control sample....I've been up too long on an aborted audit and the "top managment" still doesn't get it, so he is adding the brother in law to his Phd's advisor to the payroll in an engineering position without any degree and no techical experience.

Perhaps a disaffected academic government worker with an attitude problem?
There is no point in pursuing study without adequate resources, that is, funding and credible, recognized authorities in the major area under study. May I suggest Hugh Hefner & Tiger Woods? They would, as a happy coincidence, provide name recognition and sponsor - err - grant appeal.
Besides, I need the summer the summer cash flow and it beats getting a real job.

JB, It is so, and to top it off he is coming in at above my pay grade, and no experience in data collection, calibrations, mechanical experience, pump or precise measurements....only realty sales, appointment setting for a mortage company, and apparently as a technician 25 years ago, for a contractor at an alternative enrgy power plant near Ft Bragg. Will not get into the details of thde problems to the precision equipment that he has already broken, or the design of a platform that over 6K was spent on that they cna not use because it is too big and heavy......
BB, You really think we could get Tiger to solicit grant sponsors, sounds good to me, I may even dye my hair blonde for that.

If you would prefer, and assuming adequate "grant" funding, we might find a resourceful research assistant.

This is SC, where any post could happen. Over in HP a post was started on a Christmas present, went to a cheatin ho, to a football game. Figure that out and you too could be Mary's next supervisor!

My bet is that either you two would own it, or the both of you would be escorted well off the property under armed police escort. My pennies are on the latter!
