Thanks, George. One of the reasons that I'm considering the Redding bushing FL die is that I can pull the neck bushing out and use it on the body if necessary without sizing the neck. Do you still think that task would be better accomplished using a standard body die?

Jason, as I do not have one of the FL dies with a collet, I do not know the answer to your question.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to afford the Competition Collet dies that include the body dies and just love them. My run out on loaded rounds is so much better than before, running in the .001" or less range.

Called up Forster and chatted a sec this morning. Definitely a "no go" on using their (or any else's) FL sizer die to just shoulder bump, as the body dimensions in the die are a couple thousands smaller than SAAMI minimum chamber spec so there's no real way to make it bump the shoulder without sizing down the body, too. That chat wouldn't have been necessary if they made their bushing shoulder bump dies in 260 Rem, of course.

Any ideas on how to do the shoulder bumping thing with a 260 Rem? John, what do you use for loading for Kolby's 260?

We use the Wilson arbor press bushing type neck sizing die to neck size. When it comes time to bump the shoulder, we full length re-size...I was a little leery of full lengh re-sizing everything, but with Kolby doing his own reloading this year at his place, it was less risky to full length re-size. Didn't seem to make much practical difference in accuracy, though you know it has to make some.

If you want a shoulder bump die, take a look at Neil Jone's web site and give him a call or a gentleman by the name of Hummel at Hornady who will make a shoulder bump die.

I would suggest trying the FL bushing die for a bit though. It is not that much effort to full length size and you never have the problem of losing track of how many firings it has been since the last full length sizing. When your spotter says "15 seconds" is no time to have to fight getting the bolt closed. Just spend a few minutes adjusting he die so that the headspace is right. If you have had your barrel chambered to either "zero" headspace, or better yet, headspaced on new, unfired brass you will not have any problems fire forming cases and such.
