Pat, slow down on the infamous Weewahootee....and Malinois it is paved and still bad. The Moroman ranch section of it to the east where Cocoa gets it water from is much better maintained. The locks are easy to pick cutting through there, but don't get caught carrying firearms, the Mormons make big bucks on their hunting leases and have no tolerance for anyone without their tags.
Mary, I was doing 10 MPH when I lost the window. The "washboard" was so severe it shook my side window on my old Villager right out of the frame. I lost the tire after it was paved to a pot hole that was full of water. I hit it doing about 30. It was deep enough that the frame scraped the road.

Pat, I have bent the frame and taken out a rear window because of the utility tool box, on a Chevy 2500 in the groves on Nasa (in a ditch less than a foot deep) at less than 15mph. The paperwork involved was a riot, and the 'safety director' had to come inspect from Palatka...
So I can understand...but driving through water??? Always get out and walk the water unless you really know the weir, which is what a lot of Weewahootee is.

It had been raining and the whole road was wet. I think walking the whole length of Weewahootie is a little impractical.
The pot hole I hit (which was not visible) was only about two feet across, but it was about a foot deep!
I was at the range today and there are new holes every time I go out there. The only time we get even a half-assed resurface is when the have the SWAT round-up. Although, I don't think they bothered this last time. Maybe if they start losing whole Sheriff's cars into the holes they'll do something about it. I guess that's what happens when you just slap a little asphalt through a swamp.

Pat, Muck is such fun...especially when they build a levee across it and then can't understand why it sinks!!! Sugar sand is even more fun to drive in. Don't worry about the sheriff cars...they have a maintence plan and it's not their money, it't the governments.
