Dawg,

How about this, we just dry fire and count the hits, put everyone on the honor system. What you think sure would save a lot of ammo.

Later,

Paul

STS,

Great idea but we would have a true winner and everyone would complain the winner had a custom or high end gun or equipment and they could not afford that and needed a goverment subsidy to make their ego feel better and not cause them to have a low self-esteem or go to counsuling at the NRA silhouette programs expense.

Oh, I've seen it a thousand times the next thing you know the tooth fairy is a sex crazed killer, your daughter is knocked-up, money is missing from the dresser and all the family is on some kinda happy pills.

But then again, I could be wrong and maybe this is the best solution Paul.
Will all contests be opened with a manditory group hug?

I first could not see any good reason why the rule changed away from bone stock guns (though you could rebarrel same contour w/Shilen, etc,.) a few years back. I still don't see much in SB, though the Timney trigger for the CZ might make a difference. It seems that my sporter Swedish Mauser should now qualify for HP Hunter. But since they did make a change, I'm not about to have last year's legal rifles be outlawed this year. The NRA made illegal a gun I was about to buy ten or so years ago (Mauser rimfire) when they decided to ban two stage triggers in reaction to the misuse of Anschutz 54 trigger parts to gain advantage - as told to me directly by Greg Connor. The NRA outlawed guns over .30 Cal in bullseye HP because of the perceived threat of .50 Cal rifles in long range, meaning I couldn't use the family .35 Model 8 Rem to qualify for the DCM Garand. So I don't trust the powers that have been at NRA to do anything close to the proper thing when they decide to restrict guns and features. CMP isn't much better. Try to find a M1917 stock that will put proper pressure on the barrel without illegal bedding. Why do I have to pry off the front sight hood on my CZ 452 for rimfire sporter? Grrr...
