Re: Arizona State Champs
Haha, no I mean that while I was in Phoenix for the weekend I was able to eat at my two favorite places... not at the airport.
Jerry, you were missed in AZ. We poked a lot of fun at you but it isn't as much fun if you aren't there to hear it.
We also missed Tom Bant. You guys weren't out camping Brokeback Mountain style were you?

Tony, saw you lost four rams last weekend. My condolences. I did not want to mess with Seamus O'Grady's post. With the range facing north and that cold stiff SW wind blowing all day Saturday what the heck was holding them up?

Re: Arizona State Champs
Bob, I actually lost three rams on Sunday and it was more my fault than anything else for having shot them low, I just could not get good breaks on rams and did better on turkeys on just about all four matches.
The shooters next to us also reported having rang some rams. The number one ram on bank 4 robbed us of three hits with three different rifles so there is something definitely wrong with that target or stand.
My friend Dennis Ostler was shooting a 6.5 Grendel with 130 gr Norma bullets and 26.5 gr of Benchmark lost some rams, Felipe Zepeda was using a 260 with 46 gr of 4831 and a 120 Sierra bullets lost at least one ram that I know of. Monique Morales also lost some rams using a 6.5 Viking with 142 Sierra bullets and 32 gr of Varget.

McAlice lost a ram with his 168 Matchking out of a 7-08 on bank 3.
I'd bet money that the stands are leaning toward the firing line at the Ram line.

He deserved that in spades. Maybe if he read this site he'd not be so foolish.

He deserved that also. SMK's are for paper punching, not ram-slamming. Why was he shooting 120 SMK's at rams.

Major ditto, refer to the above comment. When are some going to learn the simple mantra: tough bullets with high BC's rule the ram line.![]()

I smell a conspiracy! The rams have banded together and formed a union. their tired of be set up only to cruely knocked back down from afar. They just want to be set and left alone to watch over the rest of the animals.
It's either that or you guys are shooting wiener cartridges and loads.

It is the latter, Kevin. Like I said once before, big game needs to be hit with big bullets. 55 pound steel rams are big game.
Trent, did you lose any with your new 6.5 Creedmoor? Did you hit any?
I got lucky this week. I am running an NC mill with a computer linked to the free world. It has been fun reading since getting back from AZ.

Re: Arizona State Champs
Haha, I wasn't exactly on a "winning streak" last weekend.
I only had one questionable shot that could have been a ringer, it could have also been a communication snafu. You were spotting for me in practice on Friday and I felt like I had a good break and you saw no splash or anything on target. It's quite possible I shot at the wrong animal and missed. So no, I didn't have any ringers. I hit about 35 of them this weekend in practice and the matches. I've got to write that down. I want to keep a running log of hits vs. rings.
I'm going to VPN into that mill you're running and carve my name into some stuff!

That's the problem... It's your spotter’s responsibility to keep you on the right target

I have to turn tricks to get my free gunsmithing done. What, did you think you were "the only one" at your work that I trade "favors" for?? You didn't believe that when I told you that you were the only one did you?Bob Mc Alice wrote:I saw your name carved into the mens room stall wall.
