Anyone use Nosler Custom Competition Bullets?
While looking for different bullets today, I happened to notice that the 6.5mm 140gr bullets from Nosler Custom Competition were only $215 for a box of 1000 from Midway. Thinking that this might be a special deal from Midway that I should jump on, I checked the price from Powder Valley. They were only $205.93 there! What am I missing here? These seem a LOT cheaper than other comparable 6.5mm bullets for 1000 of them. I might have to pick up some of these when I run out of the Lapua bullets that I'm shooting now.

Your not missing anything, they are a great bullet at a great price. Back when I was shooting the .308 I used their 168 match bullet. It is an exact drop in replacement to the 168 Sierra MK. Groups were the same and impact points were the same. Some 8 years ago before reloading component prices went nuts Sportsmans Warehouse sold them for $45. per 250 pack. Those days are gone. If they had a .284 match bullet I would buy some with out hesitation.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Nosler CC. They are on the lower side of the BC scale according to manufactures. The Litz scale actually puts them above the 140gr Matchking and up there with the Amax/Lapua/Berger.

I wonder the BC on those really is. I'm starting to doubt that any manufacturers actually give real BC data anymore.

BC schme see...it's just a number.
Actually, that is a higher number that the Sierra equivalent. If it'll knock down rams that's all that matters!

It's weird because some are actually higher than what is published. It is well known that the .264 140gr Amax is higher than listed. Also, Midway lists the BC for the 139gr Lapua scenar at one BC and Lapua lists it at another. I think Lapua had it listed above it's actual BC at one point and recently changed it. I think the only way to truly know your BC is to test it out of your rifle.Jason wrote:I wonder the BC on those really is. I wish I could find deals on some rimfire ammo like we are able to find on centerfire stuff. I wish I would have taken advantage of Neal's end of year sale on some RWS ammo.
I need some "blemished" R100.
