SB Silhouette Rifle Picture Thread
OK as I am new to this sport, and would like to see what the rest of you are shooting now and what you started with, if possible of course.
I am going to shoot my first match next month. here is what I will be using on my first outing.

Rem700 in 7mm-08. Stock done by me.

Weatherby xxii (Anschutz 64). Soon to be transferred to a new stock. These are great stocks except in the grip area.

My first serious foray into the world of silhouette after a number of 10/22s with too much $$$ dumped into them. More pix to follow as I get time to mod photos to fit.

Re: SB Silhouette Rifle Picture Thread
Well for my first toe dipping into the SB sil pool I used this Remington 597 with a Tasco 3x9 non-AO scope and of course no turrets. After the 1st match I thought I would "upgrade" and installed a Volq. hammer which did improve things in the trigger. Shot this for 2 more months when I realized I would only be polishing a turd and went ahead and got a CZ Sil like Hueys. No pic on hand it is in a young lady shooters hands now. Used that for 2 years and then snagged the 1712 from Bob259 and am still in love with it. Its topped with a Bushnell 4200 8-32x with (hopefully before Winnie a TK Lee 3/8" dot) and a Bulzeyepro booster to get it up to around 40x. Somehow I have a feeling my scope will arrive back on the day after I get home from Winnie.
Huey I am 6'4" and 230ish pounds and I know how small that CZ felt you are going to really enjoy a full size stock when you get your new rig. The thing must look like a Cricket model in your hands lol. I know it did in mine.
Rem. 597.. oh and I did bling it up a bit with a closeout Boyds laminate stock after the fact. For $25 shipped WTH right. Squirrel rifle now anyway again.

Annie 1712 in Pharr RT/S stock..

You need to reconsider your screen names. 597forlife, CZforlife... you can't be a lifer and then sell out.CZforlife wrote:My original silhouette gun... just sold it actually.

Re: SB Silhouette Rifle Picture Thread
Now wait a minute Trent, in defense of Baby Huey, just because he is building another rifle doesn't mean he is giving up his CZ, unlike a guy on this fourm that has changed screen names, and now when he can appear (no chool, health or other obligations)at Winnsboro apparently has nothing to shoot there.
So hang in there CZfor life....I still have mine, although I bought it late in my Winnie 52 collection time.

Re: SB Silhouette Rifle Picture Thread
CZ American w/ Weaver V16 (sans sling for SB Silhouette)

This is my second year shooting SB Silhouette and my goal is to make it to AA in Hunter class by the end of the summer with this little CZ. I'd like to be in a position to move up to an Annie but the CZ is doing a good job for the time being.
I also have a Rem 541X that's had some work done to it that I'd like to start using for Standard class. Unfortunately, the stock is .050 too wide so it's not legal until I sand it down & repaint or replace it.
