Texas Nationals
Howdy Airgunners!
It’s that time again. Soon the weather will be cooling down, and what does that mean? It’s time for the second annual Texas Nationals in Houston, Texas. That right, pardner, Bayou Rifles has graciously allowed us to hold the second annual Texas Nationals on their premier Smallbore Silhouette range. Grab your air rifles and your 22’s cuz Sunday is our regularly scheduled Smallbore Silhouette match. Don’t have an airgun? I’ve got a couple to loan on a first ask basis. (both right and Left handed!!!!) Gonna be a great weekend, with a catered lunch on Saturday, pick of the litter prize table and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Ok, no Cheerleaders, but the first 2 are true. Saturday, September 18th for the Air rifles, Sunday for the 22’s. Friday will be an informal practice, from 2:00pm till sunset. Range opens up 7:30am Saturday for practice and first match at 9:00am sharp. Email me or call me for an entry form!!!!!
See ya there

Re: Texas Nationals
Hey all,
I just saw this thread and had a quick question (which is pretty much the only reason I post here haha). I have seen a bunch of different "nationals" on here and was wondering what exactly constitutes a match "nationals." I grew up in high school sports where you went to regionals, then states and then nationals. There was only one nationals, it seems in silhouette there are a bunch of regional nationals? Does that make sense? Just a curiousity of mine
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Texas Nationals
Adam,
You shot in the NRA nationals, as you travel with the shooters some, you will come to understand the reason for some of the "other" nationals. Especially in air rifle, where the NRA does not host an "air" nationals, despite repeated requests from the shooters. Besides eveyone knows Texas is a seperate union!!!
Pat runs a great match, and has been one of the strongest supporters in working the Southern Nationals air rifle matches.

Re: Texas Nationals
Tennessee states, August 21st, Chatanooga. Texas nationals will be a good match also, knowing Pat Steiger. Should be a smallbore match in Jacksonville, FL Labor day weekend. If you want to go west, Colorado has their states usually in September, great bunch there, Arizona should be having SB states in Sept, at the Ben Avery is the rumor I have heard, great group of shooters.
