OK Children
Time for the Chairman to speak. At the risk of disclosing my educated side, I do believe the true quote was" "Cry Havoc", and let slip the dogs of war" spoken by Anthony. Which if my memory is right came from act iii scenei of Julius Caesar which was written by a scarcley known playwrite called William Shakespeare. Known in Australia as Billy Rattlestick lol.
Now we have cleared all that up down to buisness. Toad you will have the oppertunity to seek redemption upon deads%#t dave on Saturday so don't encourage him.
EX Pom All I can say is "you picked that like a nose" it's true Deads$#t Dave has got himself a fancy laminated shiny gun, BUT in his defence it seems to be an epidemic down here as Monarto Al also has not one but two of the offending beasts. I fear that the Toads 35REM seems to of infected the unawares and caused them to break out in Shiny Laminate Fever. This can develop into something even worse as Stavros has had Shiny Laminate Fever longer than anyone he's now come down with RANGA'S virus which we saw an outbreak of in ACT. SO BE CAREFUL!!!
Looking Forward to meeting you all in Raton, look for the Fat Bloke with a Beard you can't understand(we still need Daisy as translator) .
As for you local HillBillies I'll see you at the Toad's house at 6AM Saturday.

I might make the trip over to watch the $h!t fly at Westbury this weekend.

Got nothing else on this Saturday so why not watch a bunch of lead bounce off the 50 yard mound?

hi all
well chairman you are almost right .Shakespeare was well aware of the use of the meaning of havoc and he used 'cry havoc' in several of his plays. The 'cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war' form of the phrase is from his Julius Caesar, 1601. After Caesar's murder Anthony regrets the course he has taken and predicts that war is sure to follow.

ANTONY:
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

The term also appears in The Life and Death of King John, 1595: =))

"Cry 'havoc!' kings; back to the stained field..."

and in Coriolanus, 1607: :-bd
so ther you have it william the stick shaker stole the saying from others .as i belive that the surpent said it when adam nibbled on eve's apple :ymalien: :ymdevil:

OH DEAR,
How tragic that my fellow compatriots should choose these reverred pages to vomit forth quotations from history. Poor form indeed and such that only highlights their complete lack of the niceties of gentlemanly conduct. The ramblings of these fellows is clearly designed to camouflage a potpourie of mispent youth and dastardly deeds. Though they are posessing of fine abilities in the handling of firearms ( less frequently with the passage of time I might add) the assertion that they are custodians of a modicum of education or edification is amusing to say the least.
I fear that the behaviour of some members of the afforementioned collection of miscreants in their upcoming travels to the outer reaches of the former colonies ( U.S.A. ) would be sufficiently vile as to reflect most poorly on those remaining on home shores, I have therefore decided to join them on this voyage if only to contain the likely occurance of discretions sufficient to cause an international incident. I trust my endeavours to corral my travelling companions and set an example of acceptable behaviour will prove fruitful (optimistic I`m sure )and I look forward to greeting you all on our arrival.
The Marquis of Hemsley.

rambling's of a man who threw down the challenge to the toad at westbury on saturday needless to say i do not have to tell you the results but
a red faced marquis drove home in silence. so unhappy was he that he locked me and ramslammer in the car [-x but all is well and we are all counting down for the trip to the good old u.s.a and to meet all you sane shooters. :-bd

How much will we have to pay to have this group lost in the backblocks of the Raton range??? I'm sure our association would come to the party with funds if I can assure them that these "People" will not return home. 8-} this smily depicts most of the team quite well
