The hook is set........
I just happened to bring along one of my 7-08's to practice with this weekend after the Sat. match was over. After dinner, Mary and I headed to the HP line to fire off 50 rounds before the sun went down. It was just about dead calm. I set up the Kowa on the chicken gong and then handed the M700 to Innocent.
I put a fist full of 130 gr. Sierra loads into the pouch on the tripod, kind of like "bait". The scope position did not fit her very good, she had to power it down to 12x for a full sight picture. After several dryfires on that new X-mark trigger, she was ready for a shot on the chicken gong.
After a couple of "get use to it shots", she was nailing that gong pretty regular. She had no trouble spanking the pig and turkey gong, too. I had no ram loads with me, so we fired the 130's at the ram gong. Even with the Leupold maxed out on elevation, those bullets were running out of steam at 500 meters. She held at the top cross brace and landed several on the gong.
All told Mary fired about 35 rounds of 7-08. She had a big grin on her face and said something about raiding Coates college fund money to set up a HP gun for herself.
Help me out here people.......it wont take much doing to reel in Mary to the "Dark Side"

BB,
Don't forget I am a traditionalist when it comes to rifles. Like my wood and am far more functional than bling in tastes.
Besides what could those two talk me into? After all I am innocent.

504's are so great I may order a 547. Have Shilen lap the barrel so it's match grade and it'll be good to go! Hey Mary, that would even be a traditional wood and blue steel rifle! You'd love it!Bob259 wrote:YA, I agree with that.Innocent wrote:BB,

McAlice, If you would have gotten her started properly (6.5mm), she would have gone home, called the kid, told him he's on his own, sold her furniture, called Marv or Evelio and placed her order!
