After fighting all the "rim thickness" and "specific lot" info on cheaper ammo for years now, I finally gave up trying to make $2/box ammo live up to a $2000 gun. I just got the call from my wife telling me that my case of Club EPS ammo from Cathy arrived today. Woohoo! It might not be Tenex EPS, but it's a step up for me!

Jason, haven't you learned yet to have your ammo delivered to the office?? Blaubear has his delivered to my office and then squirrels it away somewhere at his house that his wife will never look......Man, he sure picks it up quick when it hits my office.....Wonder why???I just got the call from my wife telling me that my case of Club EPS ammo from Cathy arrived today.

Now Kitty, you're giving away all my secrets! Funny thing is the Orkin inspector remarked on all the .22 ammunition in the garage, but that was just a partial case of Club. I didn't mention the 2 cases of 711B and 2 more of Eley Target stored in a - uh - climate controlled environment. And my stash is small compared to some of y'all!jneihouse wrote:Jason, haven't you learned yet to have your ammo delivered to the office?? Here you go, BlauBear. Eley Target Rifle, weighed and sorted, lot #3106-30200 in this case. Two bricks worth, 1000 rounds. So, just move the decimal point to the left one for the percentages.
Was calm again today, so I got out there with some Eley Target Rifle 3106-30200. A is unsorted, B is sorted by weight.
So, another positive. Here's the targets:

Next up for me is probably rim thickness sorting of the Eley Target Rifle, and then probably weight and rim thickness with CCI Standard.

As long as you think it helps you, it will. This sport is a head game, not a game of facts and figures.
You have to be convenced that you are a good shot before you realy become one. The difference of 0.25 minutes of accuracy in the ammo isn't the difference between a master shooter and someone in a lower class.
This sport is just like life, you have to have confedence in yourself to be good at anything.

The reason I do it is for that .1" off the bags. For silhouette, meh. But for casual benchrest shooting it can help. If I were serious into benchrest, obviously I'd just buy better ammo.
