Remington 40x 22 Standard Rifle

Post by stsbuyer »

I got my Remington 40x back from Evelio the other day. I thought that I would post some pictures of a standard rifle for a change. This has a 17" long Lilja barrel with a 1:17 twist tite bore with a stainless bloop tube, Jewell 3oz triigger, in a Pharr RT/s stock. Added bolt knob and Weaver T24. Going to play with some weights on the tube to see if changing the balance helps slow down my hold.

Later, Paul Freeman

Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!

Thanks, Got it from Bolt Knobs by Bill. Great selection of colors and styles. Only took a couple of days to get it to me after I placed the order online.

John,

I had this barreled action in McMillan stock. Got the RT/s and had Evelio pillar bed the stock and thread the tube that I supplied. I hope to get it sighted in and shoot it this Saturday.

Be sure to forward a shooting report. It has to shoot at least as good as it looks.

You know talking about a 40x and non repeater guns. I recently shot a MS at a match and found it nice not having to reload magazines. Does anyone really think there is that much of an advantage shooting a repeater?

John,

I know how the gun shoots, the barreled action was completeed 6 years ago. I just changed the stock to match everything else. But I will update you after I get to shoot it in a match Saturday.

Kevin,

The single shot does not cause me a problem unless it it windy were you have to spend more time holding and less time loading. There is one range I shoot at that require you to pick up your brass, so I end up shooting single shot even with a clip feed gun.
