There's this one that really loves to shoot the Midsouth Classic at Benton...
Would be hard to get a firm number as the books are used for several rifle disciplines....So you couldn't tell from the sale of books....Might take the highest attendance at the largest matches (Southern Nationals and Nationals) and multiply by 10 on the assumption (just a wild guess) that one in ten smallbore shooters would attend these matches....Would put the number at anywhere from 1300 to 1500.....But I'm just a guessin'.....

Kevin,
Greg Connors said they sold over 5000 books for the 2006 season and that number went up in 2007. As John has stated this is not a good number since the book has multiple silhouette disciplines. This would lead me to believe that John

That figure would nly be for those competing in NRA matches. Besides NRA smallbore matches we also run club matches in SB, HP CLA PC and CLA SB as well as pistol silhouette.
We have about 15 NRA shooters and another 25 who compete at the club level only.
Our neghboring club also only runs club matches and has no NRA participants.
Point is there are many more familiar with the discipline than the NRA numbers show
Ken

About 10 years ago we had about 70 shooters for our indoor winter legue in Idaho Falls, ID and none of them ever shot outdoors with the rest of us dummies. Some smart guy got the range shut down with a lawsuit and there is no indoor shooting there anymore.
If you are talking about NRA books, I think it is somewhere around 2k. Not a real big group.
