2021 Texas Regional BPCR Silhouette Match Scores

Post by texasmac »

Big Bore Silhouette Match
The 2021 TX Regional BPCR (Big Bore) silhouette match held on May 15th. The match was scheduled for two days (40 shots/day) but Mother Nature intervened. The forecast indicated a high chance of rains for day two. Rather than take a chance, a show of hands by the shooters overwhelming voted to hold an additional abbreviated 20-shot 2nd match on day one after an hour break. In retrospect it was the correct decision as a couple of good showers passed through the next day and would have significantly disrupted the match.

For the most part the weather cooperated with mild winds and a few sprinkles which did not delay the match. 27 shooters, including 6 from out of state, competed at the Yaupon Creek range near Columbus, TX. The average scores were almost identical between the iron sight and scope shooters with the iron sight shooters edging out the scope shooters by 1 animal, an interesting result and the same as last year’s TX regional match. A special thanks goes out to the companies and individuals that contributed prizes including: Ballistol USA, Brooks' Bullet Moulds, Cats Shooting Sticks, Creedmoor Sports, DZ Arms, Forster Precision Products, Graf & Sons, Inc., Krieger Barrel Inc., Montana Vintage Arms, Schuetzen Powder Energetics Inc. (Swiss powder), Shiloh Rifle Company, David Roelle, SPG Sales, Starline Brass, The Single Shot Exchange magazine, Treebone Carving, Walter's Wads, Ken Wienken.
