My guess would be because the Whittington isn't a sponsor for silhouette, it's the NRA, and I doubt that silhouette will ever be back to the point that 3-500 shooters will entered.
Plus this Trap match is sponsored by the NRA, Whittington and the ATA,,

Can't say that I've received on word about this.

We really should quit blaming everyone else and do our own advertising. Only way it's going to get done.

I am not "blaming" anyone. I am defending silhouette and asking for equal treatment for our sport. After the first of the year I think a letter to the director of WC would be appropriate requesting similar emails go out promoting the 2020 National Silhouette matches. I do not have access to the WC email group to send the same promotions out. It costs nothing for them to do this but it could bring in some new shooters.

Looks like a good portion of the added money will be from additional entry fees.
There's quite a handful of companies putting up/sponsoring different matches. If a persons shoulder could handle it, you could shoot 1000 rounds over the course of those 4 days.

Just to clarify about the Southern Nationals, the money was NOT legislated to WGC by the legislature but granted to us by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism due to the number of out-of-state competitors and their guests. Jerry and I figured out when we started the match on 1990 that we had do something extraordinary to get people to come to Winnsboro. I doubt that it was at the wrong time of the year but because most people did not want to travel a long way. We had over 100 sponsors and over $50,000 in prizes so I am not sure how you could improve on the Southern Nationals as we had the best range facilities for smallbore silhouette in the world according to the Australians that attended as well as great food and hospitality. Face the facts that silhouette is a damn hard sport and probably why the attendance is what it is. I was fortunate I. Having the time and a great secretary and even greater friend in Jerry Breithaupt for us to do what we did - NAMELY HAVE THE BEST SMALLBORE SILHOUETTE MATCHES EVER HELD!

I am sure that there will be much conversation regarding this post, but facts are facts. Maybe the great competitors that attended and made our match famous can chime in. After all ,we did give away a Ford truck the third year

Several years ago at the BPCR Nationals, we had approx. $19, 000 in prizes awarded, including several high end rifles. I just did not see the excitement as we used to see, FWIW............
This year at the BPCR/BPTR SE Regional, I decided to give our past generous sponsors a reprieve. I announced there would be no prizes, only awards. Lo and behold I heard of no complaints and we were filled up in no time. Bragging rights seemed to be the biggest prize. Am I wrong???????

So. Seeing as I don’t remember ever seeing blue corn chips, and only heard about them on steelchickens, primarily from Mr. Steiger, I felt like I had good reason to question their existence.
Just googled them and low an behold, there they were in living color. Blue that is.
So I will bring a good supply of said Blue Corn Chips, along with Hatch brand salsa, to Gonzales in December.
Want a cool adult beverage with it?

I'm satified with a coke as long as the salsa is decent. I'm curious to see what passes for good salsa to a web footed coonass from NORTHERN Louisiana. =))
