Texas Stae Match

Post by glen ring »

We just returned from the Texas STATE CLA match. The match was VERY well ran by Judy and Tim Lee. Dillon Lee did a great job calling the match and the SOUTHERN hospitality was great as usual. We got to shoot with the best Lever Action Shooters in the world .

Good Time, Good folks and we'll certainly shoot with them again.

A very good match with a bunch of very good shooters. Had a great time and met some cool people...... The match was blessed with a stiff and gusty wind on the first day that cleared of entire banks of Rams and Turkeys at various times. The wind necessitated the use clips on the targets slowing the progress somewhat but, the Lee's and the rest of the match personnel adapted very nicely and the shooting was completed with very few ruffled feathers among the competitors...

Kudos to all involved with the setup of the nicely conditioned range and the great attention to detail show by all the staff. I will be there next year to try again....

Tim runs a great match. Unfortunately he can't control the weather and the best was done with the conditions present.... Sunday they were clipping full size rams, turkeys AND pigs.... it was a little windy....

All the Lee's did a fantastic job, Tim, Judy, Dillon and I believe there was some other family in the stat house. Much thanks!

Thanks much for the kind words... We certainly learned a lot this weekend, especially regarding how bad the wind can get (In all our years, we don't ever recall having to clip heavy turkeys!).

We do enjoy hosting the match, but we are so glad for a few months afterwards that it's only once a year... And we cannot even begin to list the names of everyone that was critical in making this match a good one, even in spite of the windy conditions (a few folks even said the wind was fun to shoot in, kind of in a sick way, :-j  ).

Just know we appreciate everyone's support, and especially your patience, in pulling the match off successfully.

And everyone reading this, please feel free to join us at our monthly 60 round SBCR/PCCLA matches on 2nd Sundays at ARC... we have folks that drive in from all over. Even occasionally will have someone from out of state join us.
