First and Foremost, Thank you all for braving the weather Friday and making it out for the match Sunday and Monday.


This year’s Colorado State Lever Gun Championships started with a gully washers of a rain storm, and had to be cut in half because of the conditions of the County roads getting to the range. Several Out of towner planning on camping at the range were force to spend part are all of the weekend camped in truck stops and vacant lots. The area of the Range received 4 to 8 inches of rain Thursday and Friday before 2:00 pm, making the county roads and high adventure Friday. Luckily the sun and wind came out to play late Friday and dried the roads and range out quite well. We were able to get the range set Saturday and get people in to get some practice and sight work done Saturday. This force me to cut the match down to one 40 round match with each gun, CLA and PCLE on Saturday and SBLA on Monday Morning. Sunday was a great day to shoot with just a slight breeze, and little storm activity late as we completed the PCLA match. Sunday saw some great scores shot by many competitors Lee O’Neil taking full advantage to the tune of a 35 and 36, thus gaining a commanding lead over the field for the overall. Several people made a run at Lee Monday when he showed a little venerably, but he managed to hold them off to Win the Overall Award.

We had competitors come from AZ, NM, and ND, the weather discouraged a few. Al in all I believe most competitors had a good time and enjoyed some of the best shooting conditions Colorado has to offer.
