Spring Roundup Results
Well, the 1st Annual CSLC Cowboy Spring Roundup was a huge success. We had great weather, and 41 shooters from 4 states had a fantastic time. Lots of great door prizes, and a delicious lunch each day cooked by our Campground folks added to the enjoyment. There were many shooters who had never attended a "big" match like this, and they all commented on how impressed they were with how smooth everything went each day.
We shot PCLA Sat. morning and Jim Luke was the winner with a 54 X 60. Jim also won the SCR match in the afternoon, but had to win a 3 way shoot off with Adam Steppe, and Brian Wakefield.
Sunday's CLA match was also settled by a shoot off; a 4 way affair between Adam Steppe, Brian Wakefield, Paul Viola, and Al Foust all tied with 51 X 60. Adam Steppe prevailed in the 3rd best of 5 series of turkeys over Brian, after Paul and Al fell out in the 1st series of 5 shots.
Consistent shooting payed off for Adam Steppe as he won the 3 gun aggregate with a score of 156 X 180. Jim Luke was 2nd at 154 X 180, and Brian Wakefield won a shoot off for 3rd over Paul Viola with 145 X 180.
We definitely are going to have this match again in 2016 at the same time of year, so plan on coming. Our main sponsor Van Campen Motors is on board for next year, and we may have some big plans in store to announce later on. We are planning to expand our CLA range to 3 banks of targets to help move the match along quicker on Sunday. We will most likely still have a limit of 60 due to time constraints shooting 2 matches on Saturday.
Thanks to all the shooters who came and helped make this match a success, and one that we can build on for the future.
