Winchester Super X Sub-Sonics???

Post by Jetmugg »

I just saw this stuff for sale yesterday for the first time. Winchester Super-X Sub-Sonics.

Has anyone tried this ammo yet? I think I had better go buy a couple of boxes and give it a whirl.

I shot some today in my Weatherby XXII bolt action (Annie 64). Offhand at 100 yards it seemed like it was doing very well, but when setting at the bench and punching paper I was getting 2" groups. Off hand I was hitting clay pigeons, but that 2" spread won't help me when I start wobbling.

Inside 75 yards though... deadly. I'll use them as my "go to" hunting round. Accurate... quiet... deadly little hollow points. :-bd

I plan on testing them further in my other rifles and see what results I get.

I bought a brick last night - I'll do some range testing on Sunday.

I tested Winchester Super X Sub-sonics in the three rifles I use for silhouette, and it performed just as well as SK Standard Plus. Like all .22 ammo/.22 rifle combinations, your results may vary. But this Australian made .22 ammo is worth checking out.
