130's for CPT velocity?

Post by GeoNLR »

I recently decided to stray from my "150 Across the course" mind set and decided to try out some 130's. Wow! Nice and easy from the bench, like a gentle breeze....

Question = 130 MK's running ~2550 FPS - Any issuie with CPT?

7-08 by the way

George,
If you think the 130gr. shoot good and no recoil, you should try the Sierra, 120 Gr. Spitzers with the same load as the 130, they are also great, and still less recoil.
By the way how that new 7-08 shoots.

130's in 7BR

My 7BR loves the 130 MKs. 31 grains of Benchmark pushes them right at 2600 fps. Never have any problems with CPTs.

7-08

No problem with CPT they will do the trick all the time, try some 43.5 gr. of H 380 at about 2700 fps on the 7-08 with either 130 grainers or 120.

I'm shooting the 130's at the CP&T based on some advice I got here a couple months ago. 37.3 grains of H4895 gets me roughly 2600 fps. They work so well I'm thinking of backing off another 100 fps - unless the new 6.5x47 is done before I have to load any more 7-08's - I'm not holding my breath.
