AA 2460 powder for 260

I have 32 pounds of powder I would like to burn up. Anyone have data? I found some for the 7mm08, but it looked like a lot more than the one load I found for the 260. I imagine I could burn up a lot at the chicken line. I have varget for matches, unless these practice rounds turn out good. My bullet for CPT is the 108 Lapua.

Ter, have you found any data? The first part of this might not help a great deal, but I can run you some loads on Quickload if you haven't found any. I shot some AA2460 in my 6.5x55 last year. It worked well but I didn't really like it because the charges are fairly low volume--probably just a personal preference. I shot 107's with 38 grains and 123's with 35 grains. This was out of a 30" barrel prone/xtc rifle so velocities would not mean a lot for your purpose. Let me know if you can't find data and like I say I can run some loads on Quickload for you.
Jon.

Yankee, I think Ter was looking for 2460 not 4064. Ter, I ran some loads with the 108 Lapua for the 260. Starting was 36 grains @ 42,571psi and 2,754fps in a 24” barrel. 40 grains was approaching max @ 57,532psi and 3,019fps. Always best to be safe and verify with another source and I’m not sure why Accurate Arms doesn’t list any loads for 2460 for the 260 that I could find---might be best to give them a call for safety also—Western Powders in Miles City is the distributor. The 36 grain load is about 77% fill in the 260---which is why I didn’t like the powder in the 6.5x55---I like a higher density so I can do a visual check after I charge the case, plus I like less air space.

Thanks for the reply. I could only find data from Western Powders Catalog the 7mm08, and it mirrors your findings. In the interest of density, I am going to start with 38 grains and a 108 grain pill.

ACCURATE 2460
100 SIERRA HP-V 40.6 3,022 45.1 3,271 58,386
120 NOSLER B-TIP 38.7 2,782 43.0 3,053 60,589

Found the Accurate 708 loadings from 2004 book. That may help you. Looks like your 120 figures may be a bit high use caution
