Q. Savage 16 action in Savage 110 Stock ?

Post by chuckjordan2 »

Not being a Savage expert, looking at a Savage 16 and wondering if it fits into the Savage 110 stock? Savage 110 stock is not finished and barrel channel can be contoured.

Answers or insight to the above is appreciated

Thanks

I believe the 110 is the long action for like the 30-06, 270, and such. The 16 is the short action like 308, 243, 708. So will it drop in--no. Can it be made to fit--if it is wood yes with lots of chiseling, sanding, drilling and such. Look at the savage web site and the caliber vs the number 110, 111 long action vs 10 11, 12 short action. Another place for savage stuff I think is Savage sharpshooters or something like that.
