More expensive to feed, but worth it.

Safety on standard rifle

Post by carl425 »

I can find no requirement in the rules for a safety on a standard rifle. Is that correct? On a single shot silhouette rifle, can anyone think of a reason to have a safety if it's not required? The gunsmith that's building my rifle asked me if I wanted one. I had to tell him I'd get back to him.

No safety is required on a Standard rifle.
A firearm safety has only one logical purpose: to allow the gun to be carried around loaded, ready to fire, but safe in case the trigger is pulled accidentally. There is no reason to have a safety on a target rifle.
