minimum power load

More expensive to feed, but worth it.

minimum power load

Post by KY Ratshooter »

For 200 yd matches, 30-30 using 175 grain slug, what is the lowest load range I can expect consistant knockover on the rams?

I have always been a two load shooter; a light charge for plinking and target shooting and a full bore "knock 'em on their butt" hunting load. I think the steel sheep need something in between.
Shoot low boys, they're riding ponies!

just a guess but i'll bet your target load with a 175gr slug will do fine on 200yard silhouettes.

Ratshooter, I use Sierra 170's at the rams running at 2087. I have only ever lost one and that was due to a severe wind blowing on the back of the rams. I am a firm believer in the heavier bullets; and I have seen a lot of other shooters ding rams with 150's. Al Foust
