6.5 TCU First match Ram Performance

Post by Varn »

The 6.5 TCU had it's first match yesterday at Atglen Sportsman's club in PA. The Ram load was a Hornady 143 ELD-x at 2395 FPS. I only hit 5 with it in the match but all went down nicely. After I was done shooting there was one relay left. Craig Saitto shot it for me and I Spotted. Craig hit 5 or 6 rams and they all fell convincingly . Some of them were low center hits and armpit hits as well. The 143 ELD-x at that speed left a nice snuff can sized mark and seemed to transfer energy well. I rang two in practice but I suspect they weren't setting on the rail properly given that the next ten or eleven went down easily. I was 13 minutes up from chicken zero. The ability to stay within one revolution form chicken to ram is a nice thing to have with this small of a cartridge. Overall the cartridge showed promise for the small statured or recoil advese shooter
