6.5x47 Loads for HP Silhouette

Post by Ferret Master » Mon May 18, 2015 4:34 pm

I am looking for some loads in the 2700-2800 FPS range for 123's and about 2550-2600 range for 139's or 142's. Have been surprised by the relative lack of load data for this cartridge. Most of what I have found are maximum loads. Please include the primer used.
Thanks in advance,
Ferret Master :)

Start with about 34-35gr Varget, using 36 gr for the 107's and will be doing some testing with the 123's later this summer.

Using Varget and small magnum primers in my 6.5x47;

bullet -powder-velocity
107 ----34 --- 2795 - first 3 animals
123----39------2950 - 1,000 and 1,200 yard load
142----37------2655 - rams

You might want to start with less powder and work up to what you want but there is some info. Non-molly bullets.
