Hunter Pistol front sight

Post by jrywho »

Planning to shoot Hunter Pistol and have the following question.
I seem to recall at some point the rules were changed to allow a "peep" front sight.
The revised Jan 2020 NRA Pistol rule book only list post and bead front sights.
If the peep front sight was made legal, was it forgotten when the rule book was updated?
Thanks **==

Tlee would know the answer. He has the Texas state match so he will know.

Does anyone have info regarding Hunter Pistol sights?
I don't have contact source for Tlee other than this forum. Sent a personal message but no answer as of yet. Looked at their Rifle club site but no contact listed there.
I actually have several questions for someone in the know.
Any suggestions?
Thanks **==

Since participation in Hunter Pistol isn't what it used to be, acquiring answers has been sort of difficult.
After discussing the issue of peep front sights with two different match directors peep sights are and have been used for several years.
The question of the revised Jan 2020 NRA Pistol rule book not including peeps remains unanswered.
With SB and Pistol Cartridge Lever Gun matches on the rise hopefully Hunter Pistol can see a resurgence. Both disciplines use the same targets and distances.
