Has any one improved on Jerry G's extended mag release :-bd ....? My buddy nearly ripped his finger tip off this morning in a fit of pique trying to dump a mag out of his new 1712 custom....

If you (or anyone else) finds another one of those, I'll take it. I could actually use two, but can get by with one.

Thanks,

I would also like a couple, but these seem to be as rare as stock rifles at Nationals.

Reviving this old thread instead of creating a new one so that any new readers can see the previous feedback...

I'm building a new smallbore rifle or two soon and am wondering if anyone has any of the 54.18 magazine releases that they aren't using or knows of any available for purchase. If not, I'm thinking that it wouldn't be too difficult to modify the shorter release that comes with the 1712 (that often just get a screw added to the end) or shorten and shape the longer magazine release that comes with the biathlon rifles like in the picture on this thread.
