Re: Browning Bl-22

I did go inside the rifle. Most of the work is done with the action parts. I didn't do anything to the lever. Here is a picture of the hammer and sear after I took them out, that is where most of the work took place.

Re: Browning Bl-22

I will be trying mine out for the first time on silhouettes this weekend. I have the 20" grade II version. The trigger was 8.5lbs when I purchased it. I had to change the sear geometry a little bit and smoothed it out but got it down to a nice 2.5lbs. My 20" is pretty light but i'll shoot what i've ...

Re: Aiming Question

I think you might try focusing on the spot and break the shot as your natural wobble brings the dot/crosshairs into that spot. Is it wise to manufacture movement such as left to right/up to down? Your body is probably going to do different things in different environments, my vote is to not manufact...

Re: new Lilja barrel....moly bullets?

I have the same barrel you will have minus the flutes and it seems to have no problem with the moly.

Re: What kind of steel for Chickens

I have a set of smallbore chickens made from 3/8" and 1/2" AR500 and they definitely do not take any damage. On edge hits that would normally knock over a 1/4" A36 chicken, those AR500 chickens just stand there and laugh at me. I tested some AR200 and it seems to stand up to standard velocity rounds...

Re: focus on animal or dot

I find that if I think too much while shooting it can get in the way. I find focusing on the end result, knocking the animal over to be more beneficial. Your body will physically do what your mind tells it to do. So if your mind is telling the body to knock over the target it will complete the proce...

Re: Grand Slam Medals

I've been waiting for both smallbore grand slams for over a year and a half. I've called on multiple occasions, actually talked to Greg once and he told me one of them has been engraved and didn't know where the other one was, didn't seem too concerned about finding out for me either. It would be ni...

Re: Spotting Scope Question

Mel - It was more than adequate haha.... as you stated, it go the job done. Just remember if I get a new spotting scope, you pretty much do to :D

Thanks for the advice Dustin, I will check those out. I think I saw a few of those at the last match I was at. I'll see if I can take a peek through one.

Spotting Scope Question

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a spotting scope for HP silhouette and I am trying to determine what objective I need. Is a 65mm objective enough. Would bumping up to 80mm make a huge difference? Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Re: How far will you drive for a local match?

The closest match to me is 2 hours away. It is a 40 shot smallbore match for each gun. I don't hesitate going, silhouette is too much fun to not go. There used to be a 60 shot match which was nice because you get to shoot more but a match is a match. Highpower is a 3.5 hour drive each way and I don'...

Rimfirecentral.com would also be a good option.

Re: CZ 455 two stage trigger

Should be to me by Friday. I'm excited to try it out. They advertise its weight ranging from 1N-5N which is 3.5 oz to 18oz.

CZ 455 two stage trigger

Looking at the cross section of the trigger it looks easy enough to change out some springs to make the pull weight meet hunter standards. Might be a good option for those shooting the CZ platform for silhouette.
