Re: Barrel Weight Question

"Hunters build custom hunting rifles all the time, its called hunter class, not factory class" That is the weakest argument yet. Do you have any idea why we even have the hunter class? It was conceived that the hunter class would once again enable a shooter to take his low cost hunting rifle out of...

Re: Barrel Weight Question

Once again, silhouette shooters have shot themselves full of Fosdick size holes. Why on Earth have two classes both allowing custom rifles. That's insane. Just shoot twice the amount with one rifle, one scope with less cost and maintenance. BTW, are you familiar with the IMSSU rules on hunter rifle...

Re: Barrel Weight Question

Erich, how long is the barrel that you have on your rifle now? I have an RF53 taper barrel on my 1712 that I shoot every month. With a Pharr RTS stock and the lightest rings and triggerguard I could get (Marvin Pearson-made for both, I think) and a lightweight foam buttpad, I'm one ounce from max h...

Re: Barrel Weight Question

Thank you for your responses. Yes it is for my hunter gun. I spoke to Lilja this morning and it looks like the RF 54 will fit my weight parameters. I think I'll order the barrel and put the question in my mind to rest.

Barrel Weight Question

Hello! I am trying to make a decision about my barrel and was wondering if anyone had some experience with this. Currently I have a Lilja RF53 contour barrel and about 11oz. of lead in the stock. I'm thinking of getting an RF54 barrel which if I used Lilja's barrel weight calculator correctly is 11o...

Re: Moly coat polymer tipped bullets......

I think you'll be fine... Hornady sold the v-max in moly. If they can do it... so can you!

I have been talking with extreme accuracy about a Sako/Tikka two stage trigger since March of 2016. They told me it would be out by July of 2016... still waiting...

Re: Browning Bl-22

Well I think my first venture into lever action was a success using the Browning. It was definitely a bit challenging with it being so light but at least we don't have much wind at Pe Ell. I was able to squeak out a 35/40 with a 10 on chickens and pigs. Shooting the browning definitely made my 8.5lb...

Re: Browning Bl-22

It wasn't too difficult. It took me about and hour in total. I think the hardest thing was sliding everything together and making sure the ejector and ejector spring stayed in the correct spot. The sear to hammer engagement seems to have a hook that takes a lot of leverage to disengage it. I changed...
