Re: Anschutz 1712 2 stage trigger adjustment

I throw some XF-7 Gun Grease on a toothpick and spread it on the sear once a year. Stays very consistent. I've checked the trigger using this grease with my digital trigger gauge in the cold and the heat and I have seen no change.

Re: Anschutz 1712 2 stage trigger adjustment

Something that seemed to work for me when trying to achieve the lighter second stage is lubing the sear. I was getting some real inconsistent pulls on my 5109 trigger until I lubed it. It actually lightened the pull by about 6 oz. According to my Lyman digital pull gauge my first stage is 1lbs. 8oz....

Poor long range ballistics... but it might be fun to try anyways.

Re: New Tikka .22 rimfire

Hey Mark,
I have not held one, but with all of the rave reviews and videos out on it, I couldn't resist ordering one. You know I'm a sucker for rifles made in Finland. Hope to see you at a match soon!

Re: New Tikka .22 rimfire

I have mine pre-ordered through Whittakers and after talking with them found out they will get the .22 version mid to late April and the 17HMR version mid May.

Re: Standard Class Trigger Weight

I have the Lyman Trigger Pull Gauge which gives a good ball park, how you pull and direction sometimes gives a variation. As Evelio said above, the trigger weights are the best way to go. I normally use the gauge to get it close and then use the weights.

Re: Standard Class Trigger Weight

I only shoot one rifle for both hunter and standard in smallbore but I shoot a separate standard rifle and hunter rifle for high power. I have the triggers set exactly the same, 2lbs 1oz on both standard and hunter rifles. If I shot two rifles for smallbore I would do the same thing. I don't want th...

Re: 2 lugs or 3?

Just curious, what lead you to the decision of a right bolt left port? My understanding is you are right handed? Wouldn't that mean a lot of hand switching? Just wondering what your thoughts were on it.

Re: 6 BR

The 6BR seems to be at the mercy of the range conditions and how the target setters set the targets... I guess that's true for all calibers but more so with the 6BR. Personally, that is too many variables out of my control for me to want to shoot it. I know a lot of Canadians shoot it as well as som...
