Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

Brent, I'm truly sorry if I offended you, again. We should see if the moderators will create a safe space on here for you so that you don't have to be exposed to my ideas. Two things: First, I didn't suggest you shoot "with me." You asked for three new Silhouette disciplines to be created so that yo...

How about because we just don't want to? Hard to understand I realize, but true nonetheless.

Yes, it is hard to understand. You wrote that you want to shoot with a scope, then you wrote that you don't want to shoot with a scope. That's hard to understand.

Dustin,

Not to be argumentative, but based on a recent (1879 or so) rule change, mules are also allowed now.

Greg
LOLOLOL - that rule change is basically useless because the mules are not allowed to use lenses so they can't see where they're going.

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

What???? An original Black Powder cartridge rifle, from the era, is not legal in BPCR? You're kidding, right? Not a modern ( Al Freeland international), but a real live, no kidding English rifle, converted at the turn of the century to 22lr, when it still was black powder. Pat, I hate to be the one...

Good point. I hereby rescind my suggestion of a scope class.
Jeanne, I suggest you keep your earplugs in (and muffs on) during the competitor meeting at this year's nationals. Going to be rough!

Re: bolt failure

Dustin, It was a dare and you called me on it. I will never dare you to post anything again. LOL. At least you didn't put Lapua rules Eley drools.....or the other thing....... I will have "Eley Sucks, Shoot LAPUA!" T-shirts available for sale at the next match. Maybe we will do some green ones at t...

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

So, six rifles to shoot a lever gun match? Three for iron sights and three for scopes? Looking like IHMSA...

The whole point of shooting at those giant targets is so they can be shot with iron sights.

Re: bolt failure

First, it's important to not shoot garbage Eley ammo and shoot LAPUA!

Second, that bolt should be able to handle a ruptured case. Anschutz needs to figure that out quick before some Eley shooter gets injured!

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

Don't get me started on air rifle animals.... they are just ridiculous... =)) That is funny! You almost made me spit up my coffee. I regularly shoot groups offhand at half-scale swingers with my "bolt gun" to check sight settings. In hundreds of shots I've never even come close to missing the targe...

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

I believe Troy Lawton from Georgia who won the truck at Winnsboro with a 40/40 was shooting a 10/22. We have lots of people shooting plenty of different action types so to call this a bolt game is wrong. I am very curious to know why smallbore/highpower/air rifle is not acceptable for the few peopl...

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

Dustin, if we wanted to shoot bolt rifles, we would. Some probably do. Personally, not interested. At all. Happy to hear that others like it however. You can put a scope on a lever rifle and shoot it, or on an automatic, or a pump, low-wall, high-wall, whatever. Doesn't have to be a bolt gun. You c...

Re: Silhouette Rifle Rules Changes - 2018

In case anyone is unaware, Highpower Rifle, Highpower Hunting Rifle, Smallbore Rifle, Smallbore Hunting Rifle, Open Air Rifle, Target Air Rifle and Sporter Air Rifle Silhouette all allow scopes. They are all lots of fun and very challenging. Feel free to come shoot!

Re: 2019 Louisiana Indoor Air Rifle Silhouette Regional Match

Another great, and very unique, match. Thanks very much to Danny and Garin and the rest of the bunch for putting this on. The shooters really appreciate it!

Anyone not shooting air rifle silhouette - and/or not attending this match - is really missing out!

And, thanks to the Rules Committee for clarifying, 19.17 Reclassification - Competitors will be reclassified to a higher classification when they fire two scores in any higher classification to go from B class upward or three scores in any higher classification to go from A, AA,...
