Opinions on the new Anschutz 1712

I'd like to buy a barreled action to put in a Pharr stock (or buy a nice used one; see my ad in the marketplace if you're selling!). Does anyone have any experience with the newer "side safety" 1712 actions? Can you tell me the differences between this action and the older wing-safety actions? Any b...

WTB: Anschutz 1712 in Pharr stock

My plan is to buy a new 1712 barreled action and put it in a Pharr stock but I suppose I should check to see what is available for sale first. Anyone that has a rifle you'd like to sell please send me a PM.

Re: Robertson Composites

Metalhead, Dee is completely right, you ARE a complete ASSHOLE - and a relatively dumb asshole at that! Every time you chime in to a topic on here, you try to insult everyone involved with your poorly written diatribe full of run-on sentences and uninformed garbage. Down here in "the south" we expec...

Airgun silhouette match in Baton Rouge on Saturday

For any local shooters who didn't get the message - we will have an airgun silhouette match at the Fairgrounds range on Saturday morning (Oct. 29). This will be exactly like the monthly matches; one 40-shot match for each gun (Target, Sporter, Open). The match will start at roughly 9:00 am but I'll ...

Re: WTB: Rimfire Scope

Steve, that Winchester Model 61 will make a great smallbore cowboy silhouette rifle. If you're just getting into silhouette shooting you will likely be introduced to cowboy silhouette soon and you may kick yourself for getting rid of such a nice rifle if you want to get into the cowboy game (which i...

Re: first rifle

What are you guys doing with the triggers on the Savage and Tikka rifles? Does the Accutrigger adjust down to 2 pounds? Does the Tikka come with an adjustible trigger or do most folks put an aftermarket trigger on that rifle?

Re: Which reloading press?

Thanks very much to everyone that replied. I believe that I'm going to go with the Dillon 550B. If anyone has a used one that they want to get rid of, let me know.

Which reloading press?

With all the new matches we're going to have in Louisiana next year, I'm going to need to reload for high power, CLA and pistol cartridge; so I'm going to have to get some gear. What press is everyone using? I'm hearing the Dillon progressive press is good considering the speed and the high number o...

Re: decent entry level scope

It looks like all the old standby online stores are sold out. There were some available for around $350 earlier this year. If you want a Bushnell, try a WTB post in the Marketplace. Lots of shooters here have that scope and you might find someone willing to give you a good deal on one. Also keep an ...

Re: decent entry level scope

If I were you, I would either get a Weaver T24 or a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24 with a dot reticle. The Bushnell would probably be better "all around" because it's variable power. You can find both new for around $400. I have two Bushnells 6-24, a Weaver T24 and a Weaver T36 and they're all great for s...

Re: First Trip Out W/ New Rig

You're going to have to shim it so do that then start over. I zero the gun at chickens then go up from there, that works well. Get your settings then shoot every match you can and keep practicing!!

Re: Chinese TX-200

Listen to Dee, he knows what he's talking about... He spends all his time either reading about airguns, working on airguns, thinking about airguns, practicing with airguns, or shooting silhouette matches :-B Rule of thumb: never take advice from a guy with a social life  Dee is your go-to guy...
