Re: Best Group: CZ 457 American .22 LR

I bought a 457 American recently. Not at all because I needed it. I am super impressed with CZ lately. I read an article someplace where someone from CZ was talking about their upgrade of the 550 to the 557 and they said they are not interested in making guns that someone can buy at walmart for $299...

Re: Cheap(er) spotting scopes

It's been a while but I went down this road myself. I used to coach a jr rifle club and so I was always looking for a real nice spotting scope for cheap. I was not impressed with the lesser spotting scopes. They are hit and miss as far as quality goes. The image is generally mediocre. I wound up buy...

If it is single stage it can also be converted. Mine started out life as a single stage and I converted it.

Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

You know I try real hard not to speak badly about other shooting disciplines. Most of them I don't have any interest in but to each his own. This is after all a silhouette forum and it is reasonable that people here might view this rifle as an outlier in this context. I think it would be real good f...

Re: Bergara B-14R 22LR

Man I just don't see it. Why not a cz 457 and put the leftover $600 in a stock etc. I don't need it at all but think I am going to buy one of the new cz 457's. They really appear to have some nice improvements over the prev. models. I don't have any 455's but I got about 4- 452's. I think what would...

Re: Bullet Trap

2x12's are really 11-1/2" wide so really 11-1/2" deep. The top is open and I just cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to sit on top that lays there. Then filled to the top with rubber mulch. Mine took about 2 .8 cu ft bags. Steel on the back. Mine is all built with crap I had laying around.

Re: Bullet Trap

I experimented with a similar design myself. I think the splatter from a bullet hitting a steel plate makes a lot of lead dust indoors though.

Bullet Trap

Roger's postal match got me thinking about building a trap for my shop. My plan all along when I built my shop was to build a little range in there. What I have is not really suitable for anyone but me shooting in there but should keep me shooting through the winter. I post this because I think the ...

Re: 2019 Mexico Nationals Smallbore Championship

Thanks for the video! How was the trip (i mean the logistics)? Do you fly into Monterrey? Any trouble bringing a rifle down there?

Bobby must have been typing while I was but he said it better. Oh and the food! How is that? The one other time I was in Mexico (Juarez years ago) it was really good.

Re: Morr Edge vs D3 Precision Rings

thauglor: I agree with you either will work just as good as the other. When I started the process of making scope rings I didn't know anything about Morr Rings. I had used BKL's and they work just fine too but the I am a cz/anschutz fan and I thought there might be a market for better quality rings ...

Re: Savage Mark II - which base?

I just completed some 11mm bases for rem 700 rifles (still need black oxide). Both nothing for savage. One thing to keep in mind is that in adding a base you no longer you will be over 1.5" high off the action most likely so go to a shorter size ring than 1.5". The set shown below are actually for a...

Bobby: Over on targettalk.org there is a guy that has an 1807 for sale for reasonable money. I have bought several items from the guy over the years for our jr program.
