Re: Future of the Nationals?

Dustin, Be careful in identifying the paries involved as Chinese. For example the cooks and wait staff at the local Mongolian BBQ are actually Guatemalans....with one of the cooks sporting a FOO Manchu. I suspect that the east coast has been infected by Biden disease and simply confused Raton for Ri...

Re: Future of the Nationals?

Well the trailer is long gone. There's a real office now. Yeah Nancy let a high power go in that trailer because she didn't check a rifle that was handed to her ....needless to say the competitor got sent home and Nancy had to change her drawers.....the 25 or so folks standing outside waiting their ...

Re: Future of the Nationals?

For a historical view, my first National High Power Silhouette match was in Raton in 1984. It was run by a crabby range nazi whose name I can't recall. There were over 200 shooters and 10 full relays shooting 5 with a reset. The Smallbore National as I recall were held a month or so before in Ohio. ...

Re: Missouri 2020 HP/Hunting Rifle Regional Entry and Program

Dustin I competed with several other events to get these dates because the nationals were set in July in Raton. In fact the NRA website still shows this. Our club calendar is filled with every manner of competition. If the Nationals were to go to Ridgeway when the schedule was being developed I had ...

Re: Missouri 2020 HP/Hunting Rifle Regional Entry and Program

TAKE NOTICE>>>>unless I get 25 commitments before March 1 this Regional will be cancelled. Thanks to the NRA and its blundering and Ridgeway. They may have killed off a great regional. Please send me your commitments ASAP I don't want to lose this match and maybe the entire HP silhouette program at ...

Re: Future of the Nationals?

i assure all of you that for the last 12 years I have conducted a very good Regional high power match. We only have 6 bays of 5, not enough for a national. We're located in Missouri near a major airport and metropolitan areas, we have provided food, beverages, merchandise, a superb facility, covered...

Re: Bad News

I just checked the NRA website and SB, HP and lever gun silhouette are all listed as being in Raton in July of this year 2020. My Regional (Missouri) has had the same weekend in August (the 3rd) for the last 12 years. Ridgway chose to schedule their 2019 the weekend before my regional and cost us de...

Re: Survey

I prefer 40's both as a match director and a competitor. I even liked the bad old days of a 40 round warmup match before the start of the Nationals. Having experimented with 60 round matches at our club we found no particular time advantage. In fact folks complained about fatigue....and I tired of h...

Re: Leupold Silhouette scope survey

It's my opinion that a silhouette scope is ideally a 1" tube with a parallax adjustment on the objective of the old 'quick' focus style to keep weight down to no more than 16 or so ounces and various fixed powers such as 12x, 16x, 24, and 30x. Side focus are heavier and usually 30mm tubes.

Kirk was alone and a southbound driver crossed the centerline. Kirk narrowly avoided a head on, was struck obliquely causing a rollover. His truck was totaled, and he suffered non life threatening injuries. The other driver admitted fault and was 'distracted'
